From the days of being just a repository source, food packaging has now reached a time when it is widely referred to as the 5th P of marketing.

Those familiar with marketing will know what the 5Ps of marketing is – Product, Price, Place, Promotion, and Productivity.

Productivity is the measure of the efficiency of a process, system, or product. In marketing, productivity is used to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and activities. Productivity can be measured in different ways, including ROI, CPA, and CPL. Productivity is a very important consideration in any marketing campaign.

What is Flexible Pouch Packaging?
There has been a noticeable shift in the demands within the food packaging industry as more manufacturers are using flexible packaging materials for their products.

Pouch packaging is a type of packaging that is made from flexible materials that include laminates, films, foils, and paperboards. This type of packaging is available in several shapes and sizes. An additional benefit of flexible pouch packaging is that it is also heat sealable, which means it can be heated at very high temperatures to create a closed seal. Flexible packaging of this type is used for many different types of products including potato chips, pet food, and other food types. It is also a good option for products where brands want some printed marketing messages or a range of different colours on them.

These factors make flexible packaging convenient for bulk packaging for food and therefore appeal massively to food manufacturers around the world. Pouch packaging is a very cost-effective way to package products as it is lighter in weight and therefore incurs lower transportation costs. The packaging is also much more resistant to damage and tampering than types of rigid packaging. Flexible packaging is commonly made from materials that include aluminium, plastic, foil, and paper. The material is the right packaging for keeping its contents in shape and extending the shelf life of foods and other types of items.

The main drivers of this growth are the growing food and beverage industry, the rising demand for convenient packaging, and the increasing preference for environment-friendly packaging solutions. Flexible packaging is used mainly in the food packaging market, but also for pharmaceutical products, and others.

The rigid packaging market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.5% from 2018 to 2023. The main drivers of this growth are the growing food and beverage industry and it’s rising demand for packaged food products as well as the increasing need for secure packaging solutions.

The paper packaging market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8% from 2018 to 2023. The main drivers of this growth are the growing food and beverage industry, the rise in e-commerce sales, and the increasing preference for environment-friendly packaging solutions.

Flexible pouch packaging is a key product for both emerging and current businesses. The collaboration and innovative approach of a company will be the main requirement to make the most of the rising demand for flexible laminated packaging both by companies and the consumer.
