TIPA Closes Funding Round Worth $70 Million

Alex Todd

The TIPA company, a world leader in eco-friendly compostable packaging for businesses is looking to raise more funding for its future developments.

Eco Friendly Packaging

The developments include growth into new markets and increasing their worldwide distribution plans which are to be present in every country globally.

TIPA - Business Overview

The TIPA company is an Israeli packaging business that specialises in the production of innovative, high-quality packaging solutions. Founded in 2010, they have since been transforming the world of flexible packaging with their proprietary combinations of materials and technologies, resulting in optimised and sustainable packaging solutions. From food to cosmetics, they offer a wide array of custom-made packages that are strong yet lightweight — showcasing their ability to produce best-in-class barrier properties while also providing an eye-catching presentation.

The business is committed to continuously designing unique and cost-effective solutions and has established itself as one of the leading players in the industry. As a testament to their quality, TIPA Packaging was recently recognised by Packaging World magazine as one of 2019's Top Packaging Suppliers.

The Fund Raising

TIPA recently secured a substantial 70-million-dollar investment from joint investors Millennium Food-Tech and Meitav Dash who combined contributed over 30% of the total raised. Other strategic investors also include Migdal Group Insurance and Finance along with other international investors who are all interested in cutting-edge sustainable solutions to cure our planet's packaging & sustainability woes.

TIPA has its sights set on the colossal \$103 billion consumer flexible plastic market, and with growth projections in effect, it's time to pivot away from hard-to-recycle materials. TIPA offers sustainable solutions that can reduce a brand’s carbon footprint and increase customer trust, an example of this is Waitrose UK which has already benefitted from these eco-friendly packaging resources. With the supermarket brand's commitment to excellence, the business continues providing high-quality foods with innovative compostable packaging that does not require preservatives or artificial additives for superior protection.

TIPA - Sustainable Packaging Solutions

TIPA is committed to providing sustainable solutions for all its partners. In early 2018, TIPA announced a strategic partnership with Amcor that will see them produce compostable packaging material in Australia and New Zealand using biodegradable polymers.

The recent, rapid increase in demand for sustainable packaging solutions from consumers has been paired with a sharp rise in concern over our environmental future. The Tipping Point Association's CEO Daphna Nissenbaum said, “our encounter with plastic pollution can no longer be ignored as it becomes more prevalent and alarming each day.” Newer alternatives are needed to replace these types of materials that fail and accumulate during recycling processes – something we're already experiencing today!

TIPA is a company that can make sustainable packaging a feature in all countries around the world.

The Flexible Plastics Market

The worldwide flexible plastic market is a rapidly growing industry, driven by increasing demand for versatile and lightweight packaging solutions. Packaging made from flexible plastic allows products to maintain their integrity during transport, thus reducing costs associated with wasted goods or damaged items.

New technologies have been developed in recent years to make this material even more effective, durable, and affordable. Such developments have led to its use in nearly all industries, ranging from food and beverage containers to medical products, automotive interiors, and many other applications.

Packaging is an integral part of the supply chain and shifting towards flexible plastic packaging has many advantages. Flexible plastic packaging takes up less space in transit, leading to fewer resources used such as fuel and energy. This also reduces plastic waste from damage due to compression during shipping.

Additionally, this type of packaging can be produced with lighter-weight materials for further environmental benefits since a lower volume of material is required to create it. Increased sustainability overall is attainable through using Flexi packs or composite materials made of recycled plastics. Packaging that utilises recycled plastics and other renewable raw materials, production efficiencies, and minimised waste streams help towards creating a sustainable industry.

By 2025, the global flexible plastic market is projected to exceed 400 billion dollars in annual sales.

Sustainable Packaging Solutions for the Packaging Industry

Packaging has become an integral part of our lives. As the world shifts towards more sustainable lifestyles, managing packaging waste is an increasingly important issue.

Sustainable packaging solutions are methods and materials used to create environmentally friendly, reusable packaging that meets sustainability standards while providing effective protection and convenient transportability. Packaging can be not only recycled but also biodegradable, which helps to reduce its toll on the environment.

Additionally, sustainable packaging products with recycled content are often created with renewable materials such as plastic made from plant-based sources, helping to reduce their carbon footprint and overall impact. By transitioning to more sustainable sources and approaches, it's possible to reduce our environmental burden and make a positive impact on the future of the planet.
