Back to the 80's - A History of Home Delivery for Groceries and Milk

In the 1980s, people would typically get milk and groceries delivered to their houses in one of two ways. Depending on the availability and what was offered in the local area, many families had their groceries delivered by either a dairy cooperative or a supermarket chain.

Delivery from dairies was a popular service, as it allowed customers to have daily deliveries of fresh milk, eggs, and butter straight to their doorsteps. Supermarket chains such as Safeway offered a wider range of grocery items for home delivery through mail-order catalogues, where people could order fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, canned goods, and health care products that were then delivered to their homes.

The convenience of being able to shop without ever leaving the comfort of one's homemade delivery services highly sought-after option for many throughout the 1980s. The new Milk and More service have a nostalgic feel to it with the home delivery of milk and the collection service of the bottles they arrive in.

Recyclable Packaging Essential for Home Deliveries

Recyclable packaging has become increasingly important in the home delivery sector, as companies strive for more sustainable solutions to their transportation needs. Recyclable packaging helps to reduce the amount of waste produced through deliveries, protecting our environment from unnecessary contributions to landfills or pollution from non-biodegradable materials.

Recycling also helps to reduce costs and is becoming a preferred method of transportation in many industries because of its sustainability and cost-effectiveness. As a result, many home delivery services are investing in recyclable packaging options to lower their overall impact on the environment while still meeting customer demands.

By utilising these recyclable packages, companies can ensure that they are providing a responsible service not only for customers but also for future generations who will benefit from reduced environmental harm.
