Recycled Packaging is decided on by P&G Fabric Care

Alex Todd

The well-known company Procter & Gamble has moved one step ahead towards environment conservation in its fabric care brands.

Fabric Care

The company has recently announced that 230 million bottles from its Lenor, Ariel, Dash, and Lenor Unstoppables brands will be manufactured using recycled packaging techniques.

This statement by the business is the fourth environment-friendly action that has taken place in the last eighteen months. P&G stated that the first set of fabric care bottles made from recycled plastic will be available in markets by 2016.

This development means that the number of recycled materials used by the company every year will increase by 3.8 kilotons. The company stated that the objective of this change in strategy is to increase the number of recycled materials in all its packaging.

The business will have environmentally friendly technologies that will allow recycled materials to be used on the majority of the business’s products as soon as possible.

What Prompted P&G’s Move Towards Environment-Friendly Recycled Packaging
The group President of P&G Global Fabric and Home Care, Giovanni Ciserani has said that in terms of sustainability, P&G prefers to act on the issue rather than just discuss it. He said that the use of post-consumer recyclate (PCR) in packaging its products will be beneficial to the environment. The step towards environmentally friendly packaging at P&G means that they expect customers to take sustainable brands while the company continues to deliver high-quality products.

Ciserani also said that the company is planning to partner with other organisations that will add to the number of recycled materials produced globally. The growth in partnerships will be an effective way to increase the presence of recycled packaging in more brands across the globe (including the entire European Union, Asia, and the US). Ciserani added further that it’s not just the responsibility of companies and organisations to use recycled packaging. All individuals in the world have equal responsibility for eradicating packaging waste that is present in the environment by encouraging the use of recycled products.

P&G Fabric Care’s recent announcement is in line with the company’s objective of achieving greater environmental sustainability with recycled packaging.

This type of packaging is made from recycled materials that include paper, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic, and other types of flexible packaging. In addition to being kind to the environment, this type of packaging is also less expensive than new packaging and can be used again several times.

Packaging that can be recycled is better for the environment as it reduces the amount of waste going into landfills around the world. It also helps to save resources and energy, for example, one ton of paper saves seventeen trees, 7,000 gallons of water, and enough energy to power a home for six months. Other benefits of reducing waste include reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

There are many types of packaging of this type including fully recyclable, biodegradable, reusable, and compostable. All these packaging types have special stickers and stamps to indicate that they are recyclable, so consumers know to save the packaging.

Packaging that can be recycled is fast becoming a popular thing with people all over the world who are fast becoming environmentally conscious and want to contribute to recycling as much as possible.
