Cortec VpCI® 644 serves as an additive designed to shield both ferrous and non-ferrous metals against corrosion triggered by water containing inorganic salts, notably chlorides.

With its concentrated composition, VpCI 644 delivers potent protection with minimal usage, making it an ideal solution for diverse marine and industrial applications seeking cost-effective corrosion inhibition in freshwater, seawater, and brine environments. Infused with organic components, VpCI 644 boasts robust film persistence, proving effective as a substitute for formulations incorporating chromates, phosphates, nitrites or similar heavy metals.

Features

  • Shields ferrous and non-ferrous metals from corrosion caused by fresh and saltwater, brine, chlorides, and other dissolved halogens.
  • Free from nitrites, chromates, zinc, and phosphates.
  • Economical treatment due to low concentration effectiveness.
  • Provides residual protection lasting 1 to 2 months after draining hydrotest solution.
  • Effective in liquid and vapour phases at temperatures up to 200ºF (98ºC).

Typical Application

For cooling/heating systems undergoing hydrotesting with seawater, incorporate VpCI 644 at a concentration of 0.2-0.3% by weight into brine solutions, accommodating up to 5% chlorides and other aggressive inorganic salts. Achieve superior protection exceeding 95% in both liquid and vapour phases.

Packaging & Storage

VpCI-644 is available in 5 gallons (19 liter) and 55 gallons. It is packaged in containers, liquid totes, metal drums, or bulk. Store it sealed in its original packaging. You can shelve it up to 12 months.
