VpCI® 384 RAL 9006 Aluminium is an advanced two-part aluminium urethane top coat. Its primary purpose is to enhance the performance and durability of moisture-cure urethane primers, such as VpCI-396.
You can customise this product to achieve various colour options to suit your specific application needs.
The VpCI 384 RAL 9006 Aluminium has exceptional adhesion properties, even after the moisture cure urethane primer has fully cured. This remarkable feature ensures a long-lasting and reliable bond between the topcoat and the substrate.
Not only does VpCI 384 RAL 9006 Aluminium offer remarkable hardness, but it also demonstrates excellent flexibility. This flexibility allows the coating to adapt to substrate movements, preventing cracking or delamination, even under dynamic conditions.
The coating boasts exceptional solvent resistance. It ensures minimal damage or degradation when exposed to solvents and harsh chemicals. Furthermore, it does not contain aromatic solvents, making it a safer choice for both application workers and the environment.
Features
- Unmatched Adhesion: VpCI® 384 RAL 9006 Aluminium boasts outstanding adhesion, even to moisture-cure urethanes for a long-lasting bond even when fully cured.
- Stunning High Gloss: Your surfaces will dazzle with a brilliant high gloss finish, adding a touch of sophistication and elegance to your projects. This product is resistant to chipping, scratching, and abrasions, even in demanding industrial environments.
- Ultimate Flexibility: The coating exhibits excellent flexibility, allowing it to adapt to the expansion and contraction of the substrate without cracking or losing its protective properties.
- Unrivalled Solvent Resistance: With VpCI® 384 RAL 9006 Aluminium, rest assured that your coated surfaces will remain intact and unharmed even when exposed to harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Indestructible Toughness: This coating creates a rock-hard protective barrier, safeguarding your valuable assets from physical damage, impacts, and abrasions.
Typical Applications
VpCI® -384 RAL 9006 Aluminium finds extensive applications in various industries owing to its exceptional properties for corrosion protection.
Application
Before applying VpCI 384 RAL 9006 Aluminium, ensure that the product is thoroughly stirred to achieve optimal performance. This coating is specifically formulated for application over a urethane primer.
For best results, apply the topcoat when the primer reaches a tack-free state. However, even if the primer has fully cured, applying VpCI 384 will not significantly affect adhesion.
Do not directly apply VpCI 384 RAL 9006 to bare metal surfaces. Instead, apply it over the prepared urethane primer.
To achieve the desired protection and appearance, the recommended wet film thickness ranges from 4 to 6 mils (100-150 microns), which results in a final dry film thickness of 2 to 4 mils (50-100 microns).
Monitor the thickness by using a wet film thickness gauge. This would ensure the correct thickness is achieved for optimal performance.
For product cleanup, suitable solvents such as butyl acetate, acetone, or MEK can be used to remove any excess or spilled VpCI-384 RAL 9006 coating.
Packaging and Storage
VpCI 384 RAL 9006 is a high-performance corrosion inhibitor designed for surface applications. It comes in two parts: Part A is available in convenient 5-gallon (19 liters) pails, and Part B is supplied in 1-gallon (3.8 liters) pails for easy handling and usage.
Mixing and Application
For optimal results, mix VpCI-384 RAL 9006 Part A and Part B in a ratio of 5 gallons (19 liters) of Part A to 1 gallon (3.8 liters) of Part B. Once mixed, allow the combined solution to rest for 30 minutes before applying it to the surface in need of protection.
Environmental Considerations
VpCI 384 RAL 9006 should be applied within a temperature range of 20ºF to 100ºF (-7ºC to 38ºC) to ensure proper bonding and effectiveness. Avoid applying the coating in extreme weather conditions to achieve the best possible results.
Protective Properties
VpCI 384 RAL 9006 offers excellent corrosion protection and durability, making it ideal for use in various industrial and commercial applications. It forms a robust barrier that shields metal surfaces from moisture, salt, and other corrosive elements. Thus, VpCI 384 extends the service life of assets and reduces maintenance costs.
Application Areas
This surface coating is well-suited for protecting a wide range of metal substrates, including steel, aluminium, and copper, in both indoor and outdoor environments. It is particularly beneficial for equipment and structures in marine, manufacturing, and coastal areas where corrosion poses a significant threat.
Ease of Use
VpCI 384 RAL 9006 is user-friendly, allowing for straightforward application by brush, spray, or dip methods. Its high coverage rate ensures cost-effectiveness while providing superior protection to the coated surfaces.
Long-Term Effectiveness
Once applied, VpCI 384 RAL 9006 forms a resilient barrier that remains active for an extended period, offering continuous protection against corrosion and preventing the formation of rust, even in harsh conditions.
