Cortec M 528/528L are hydraulic fluid additives used in subsea operation management systems and other water-based processes.
They prevent corrosion in steel, bronze, copper, galvanised steel, brass, aluminium, and other ferrous/non-ferrous alloys and metals. M 528 and its variant (528L) prevent rusting in vapour and contact phases.
M 528L includes a supplementary grease package.
Features
- Stable in water systems with 6pH level or above.
- Dissolves in oils, alcohol, water, and glycols but incompatible with hydrocarbon solvents.
- Non-phenolic.
- Suitable with Seawater.
- Thermostable.
- Non-hazardous and safe for the environment.
- Successfully assessed in an IP287-compliant Ethylene Glycol/water mixture with or without seawater input.
- The Ethylene glycol/water fluid containing M 528L has good anti-wear capabilities, according to Falex test results.
- Biodegradable.
- Complies with HOCNF environmental regulations.
Application
- As Hydraulic additives in subsea manufacturing control systems.
- Cutting and synthetic cooling fluids.
- Industrial/production cooling towers.
- Lubricants (Water-based only).
- Aerosol formulations.
- Alkaline metal cleaners.
- Fluid additive to Radiators.
- Drilling muds (Water based only).

Packaging & Storage
M 528/528L are available in drums, liquid totes, bulk and pails. Pail variants are available in 5 gallons (or 19 liters). Bigger variants are 55 gallons (or 208 liters).
Recommended storage is a heated warehouse to prevent freezing the fluid.
Keep the original packaging and should be sealed properly. The M 528L/528 fluid can be stored up to 24 months.
