Cortec VpCI® 170 is a self adhesive foam tapes that provide anti static protection in full conformance of MIL-B-81705C.
In addition they contain the renowned VpCI vapour phase corrosion inhibitor formula for enhanced corrosion & rust protection into the long term.
- VpCI®170 comes packaged as 1 x roll individually. 20 ft L x 2” W x ¼” H 51 mm x 6 mm x 6.1 mtr length)
- VpCI®170 is a patented adhesive foam tape rolls that contain Cortec’s sophisticated VpCI corrosion Inhibitor formula.
These self adhesive foam tape rolls are a superior alternative to traditional/legacy VCI Emitters and anti static tape products. The sophisticated Vapour Phase Corrosion Inhibitors essential evaporate off the tape itself and onto the surface, providing enhanced corrosion protection for your product or enclosure. VpCI protects against all the usual corrosion culprits including H2S, SO2 & NH3.
VpCI®170 is a highly effective when used as an electrical corrosion prevention method. They can be used to line export packing cases, control boxes, cabinets & enclosure that contain sensitive components. As a cost effective solution they are also a low maintenance one in that protecting your assets during operation, shipping & storage could not be easier with 170. Simply cut the roll to size, release the liner and position the strip in close proximity to the area that requires protection. (see guidance)

Frequently Asked Questions
• What exactly is Valdamark Direct's VpCI® 170 adhesive foam tape?
• How does the VpCI® 170 tape actually protect against corrosion?
This tape has a secret weapon: it slowly releases VpCI molecules into the air within an enclosed space. These molecules then settle on metal surfaces, forming a super thin, invisible layer that blocks out moisture and oxygen, which are the main culprits behind rust and corrosion. It's like an invisible shield for your metals!
• Is this tape just for basic static protection, or does it do more?
Oh, it's definitely more than just basic static protection. While it meets strict military standards for static dissipative materials (MIL-B-81705C), its primary superpower is the long-term corrosion inhibition it provides. So, it's a static guard and a rust fighter all in one.
• What types of metals can I expect the VpCI® 170 tape to protect?
You'll be pleased to know it's quite versatile! This tape is designed to protect a variety of metals, including common ones like copper, aluminium, and stainless steel, ensuring broad application for your needs.
• How long can I expect the corrosion protection from this tape to last?
This is one of its great features! The VpCI® 170 offers continuous protection for up to two years, even when your equipment is operating or in storage, which is fantastic for long-term safeguarding.
Relevant products you may want to consider:
• Does the VpCI® 170 tape interfere with how my electronics or other components work?
Absolutely not! One of the key benefits of this tape is that it's designed to protect metal surfaces without negatively affecting their electrical, optical, or mechanical properties, so your sensitive components can function normally.
• Is this adhesive foam tape considered safe to handle?
Yes, it's designed with safety in mind. The VpCI® 170 tape is non-toxic and safe to handle, making it a good choice for various environments without needing special precautions beyond typical good practice.
• Are there any particular chemicals or substances that this tape is free from?
