PC Love Vodka Liquid Packaging | Absolut Change for Valentines | Valdamark Packaging
Absolut Drop Vodka Packaging – The new Absolut Drop vodka packaging has been unveiled by the brand just in time for Valentine’s Day to help spread the word of inclusive love.
Check out this new politically sensitive product packaging.
One of the worlds biggest brands has unveiled its new Absolute Drop Vodka Packaging . It has been released just in time for Valentines Day and is there to help spread the good word for all inclusive love.
The Vodka bottles are limited edition and are manufactured using recycled glass that feature labelling made with a special ink.
We say special as believe it or not the ink used has been extracted from signage that has been collected from anti-LGBT and racist groups used during protest. We have no clue as to how Absolute came into possession of this, let alone get enough ink to do a whole production run.
Each bottle is embossed with the word ‘love’ that is written in different languages across the surface area of the bottle.
They want the bottle to be a beacon of ‘international love’. Hmmmmmm!
Is this cynical marketing or worse a patronising stunt towards the self respecting people of the LBGT and Coloured communities?
The packaging is certainly powerful and the message behind it a good one, but….
The Head of Marketing at Absolut explained that the company is proud of the packaging and its powerful message that love has no borders and that this is at the heart of Absolut brand.
Absolut is a passionate supporter of the LBGT community and has a long standing partnership with the Stonewall campaign.
They have also placed a ‘Take pride in diversity’ medal across the bottle. This further appeals to the collector and captures the attention of more people.
Absolut’s New Paper Bottle Vodka Packaging
Absolut Vodka is taking a big step in eco-friendly packaging. They've teamed up with the Paper Bottle Company (Paboco) and other major brands like Coca-Cola, Carlsberg, P&G, and L'Oréal to create a groundbreaking bottle. This bottle is made using 57% paper, with a recyclable plastic lining. Their goal is to move towards a fully bio-based bottle in the future, which would be a huge win for the environment.
The Innovative Bottle
This new bottle is quite special. Most of it is made of paper, which is a renewable resource, and it has a recyclable plastic layer. When you're done with the bottle, you can toss it into your regular household waste, just like paper. This makes it an excellent choice for anyone who cares about the environment.
What makes this initiative even more remarkable is that Absolut Vodka is the first global spirits company to sell these paper-based bottles in stores. Before that, they tried it out at festivals in the UK and Sweden to learn from consumers, retailers, and supply chain partners. These insights are helping them move closer to creating a fully bio-based bottle for commercial use.
Testing the New Bottle
They're taking the new bottle for a test run to see how well it works and how people like it. In the past, they used it for Absolut Mixt ready-to-drink products with a low alcohol content (5% ABV). But this time, they're testing it with the iconic Absolut Vodka, which has a higher alcohol content (40% ABV).
You can find these 500ml bottles in 22 Tesco stores in Greater Manchester during the summer, and they'll cost you £16. Manchester was picked for the trial because they're great at recycling both paper and the plastic layer.
The Plastic Layer
This bottle's plastic layer is made from a special type of plastic called PEN polymer. It's a type of plastic that works well with paper recycling. In the future, they might use a bit of another plastic called HDPE to make it even easier to recycle in paper mills.
Other Benefits
Aside from being good for the environment, these paper bottles are eight times lighter than glass bottles. That makes them much easier to carry. But don't worry, they haven't abandoned Absolut Vodka's unique design. The bottles still have that classic look. The goal is not to replace glass bottles but to offer another choice for people, especially at events like festivals.
Absolut Vodka's Commitment
Absolut Vodka is determined to be a carbon-neutral product by 2030. They've already made impressive strides, reducing emissions by 98% at their distillery, which is way better than the industry average. They're also working with Ardagh Glass Packaging, using hydrogen energy to fire their glass furnace for large-scale bottle production, showing their commitment to eco-friendly initiatives.
Future Developments
While they don't mention specific CO2 emissions for the 57% paper bottle, it aligns with Absolut's broader sustainability agenda. Paboco is also planning to create a 'Next-Gen paper bottle' that will contain at least 85% paper. These forward-thinking brands are making packaging more eco-friendly, promising a greener future for the drink industry.
So, the future of Vodka Packaging is looking brighter than ever, with Absolut Vodka leading the way in sustainable and eco-friendly options for the world to enjoy.
