Call for quote
Cortec Eco-Corr Film® is a groundbreaking biodegradable film with corrosion-inhibiting features.
It incorporates Cortec's revolutionary VpCI® Technology and offers superior barrier, contact, and vapour-phase corrosion protection. It is suitable for non-ferrous and ferrous metals.
Eco-Corr Film® breaks down into water and carbon dioxide in an industrial decomposition setting in 2-3 months. The precise period required for films to decompose depends on the conditions and activities of the disposal site. Eco-Corr Film® is stable on the shelf and will not degrade unless disposed of in a suitable composting environment.
Eco-Corr Film® compostability testing in a controlled environment using an ordinary composting bin revealed that the material had deteriorated after 112 days.
Packaging & Storage
The standard packaging of Eco-Corr Film® is available in rolls with 36” (91.4 cm) and 48” (122 cm). Other forms and custom sizes are also available.
To maintain optimal performance, store indoors in original package. Products should also be out of direct exposure to sunlight at 40-100 °F (4-38 °C).
Shelf life: 2 years
Features
- The very first recyclable and biodegradable packaging film that inhibits corrosion at barrier, contact, and vapor phases.
- Offers corrosion inhibitor protection to different metals.
- TÜV Austria certified the product as industrially biodegradable (#TA8012206603).
- Passes ASTM D6400.
- Passes NACE TM0208-2018 corrosion protection standard.
- Passes German corrosion protection requirements (TL-8135-002).
- Completely replace non-biodegradable and unacceptable mix films.
- Uses bio-based polymer binder.
- An eco-friendly alternative to traditional polyethylene films for transportation and storage purposes.
Application
Metal components wrapped in Eco-Corr Film® remain safeguarded from condensation, salt, hostile industrial environments, high humidity, moisture, and dissimilar metal corrosion. The Inhibitors evaporate and condense on every metal surface within the sealed packaging. VpCI® penetrates every area of the product, covering both the external and difficult-to-reach interior layers. You receive total product protection during storage, and domestic and international transfers. With the inhibitors infused into the film, you're assured of avoiding rust complaints.
