Master Shield® kraft paper rolls are designed to safeguard ferrous metals from corrosion throughout the supply chain. This robust packaging solution effectively combats the harmful effects of rust and oxidation.

How VCI Paper Rolls Work:

VCI stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. Our VCI paper rolls employ a sophisticated surface neutralisation mechanism. The VCI corrosion inhibitor, in a state of equilibrium, adheres to the metal's surface, providing protection until it's manually removed with water or compressed air.

Unlike cheaper alternatives, our VCI inhibitor regenerates itself by drawing on remaining molecules within the enclosed VCI atmosphere. For optimal performance, we recommend oiling or greasing products before packaging. The VCI molecules, with their polar orientation, magnetize to the charged surface of the lubricated metal.

Important: For maximum efficiency, maintain a clearance of no more than 300mm between the metal product and the VCI paper.

Upon arrival, the VCI formula evaporates without residue, allowing immediate use.

Applications of VCI Paper Rolls:

VCI paper rolls are primarily used to protect metals from corrosion during shipping and storage, especially in export scenarios where goods face harsh conditions.

Corrosion damage can be caused by:

• Air (oxygen, humidity, nitrogen, sulfur dioxide, emissions)
• Water (saltwater, seawater, chlorine-based water)
• Acids (caustic formulas, grease removers, galvanic liquids)
• Dust (attracts dampness, binds contaminants)
• Perspiration (contains corrosion catalysts)

VCI corrosion inhibitors are also effective in manufacturing and warehousing, protecting idle or vulnerable products.

Important: VCI paper rolls are intended for trained professionals in well-ventilated areas. Wash hands before and after use. Not for food packaging.

Tips for Working with VCI Paper Rolls:

• One square meter of VCI protects 1-3 square meters of metal surface or one cubic meter of packaging space.
• Use additional VCI emitters for high-bulk density items.
• Ensure product temperature matches ambient temperature.
• Seal packaging tightly; avoid water contact.
• Do not mix VCI compounds.
• Keep VCI away from wood, paper, corrugated items (maximum 300mm distance).
• Package clean, dry items immediately.
• Use gloves to prevent fingerprints.
• Combine with aluminium foil packaging for optimal protection.
• VCI atmosphere reaches optimal levels in 24 hours (temperature dependent).
• Briefly open enclosures for inspection.
• Package in airtight, low-humidity rooms; metal temperature should match ambient temperature.
• Avoid gas, dirt, and corrosive elements.
• VCI products are ready for immediate use.
