How to Apply

Whether you're dealing with light, medium, or heavy rust, this product can be conveniently applied using various methods.

For spray application, you can use air or airless spray equipment to coat the affected surface with corrosion inhibitors. Once applied, allow the chemical to stand for up to 15 minutes, ensuring it effectively penetrates the rusted areas.

Afterward, rinse the surface with alkaline solutions, such as the Cortec® VpCI® 41x Series. The process typically requires minimal rubbing or none at all, simplifying the rust removal task. If needed, repeat the application to achieve desired results.

When dealing with medium or heavy rust, an extended standing time is recommended. For this purpose, you can immerse the rusted parts in a drum or tank filled with VpCI® 422 for as long as required to eliminate corrosion effectively.

Once the rust has dissolved, remove the parts and rinse them with an alkaline option like the Cortec® VpCI® 41x Series. To expedite the cleaning process, consider increasing the temperature to 150°F (65°C) or use agitation techniques.
