VpCI® 145 is a specialised VCI packaging paper that can protect your valuable items from static electricity buildup and corrosion. This unique product combines both corrosion-inhibiting and static-dissipative properties

This paper inhibitor uses an eco-friendly soybean oil coating. It outperforms conventional anti-static coatings like Alkyl Ammonium Chlorides, imidazolines, ethoxylated amines, phosphate esters, and nonionic-based antistat coatings in the static half-life test, especially in low-humidity environments.

The antistatic protection of VpCI® 145 remains thermally stable at temperatures exceeding 392ºF (200ºC) and pH stable between 2 and 11, even in temperatures above 100ºF (38ºC) for several days.

In addition to its excellent static-dissipative properties, VpCI® 145 provides contact, vapor, and barrier phase corrosion inhibition for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. With this, it meets the performance specification and requirements of MIL-PRF-3420G.

First, clean metal surfaces and dry them completely. Then package the products immediately. Make sure the inhibitor paper is as close as possible to the surface for protection. There should be no barrier between the paper and the metal surface.

For effective and maximum protection, these standards work:

  • a 1 square foot (0.09 m2) VpCI paper is sufficient for every 3 square feet of metal and for every 0.5 cubic feet of void space, 1 square foot (0.09 m2) VpCI paper.

Furthermore, if long-term storage will reach ten years, it is advisable to enclose the wrapped product in an airtight package. This will maintain the effectiveness of the corrosion-inhibiting properties of VpCI 145 over an extended period.
