Example of Installation for Protection of Ballast Tanks

Installation for the protection of ballast tanks involves the following steps:

  1. Pump down the ballast tank after pressure washing and remove all foreign materials from the tank's bottom.
  2. Calculate the required amount of EcoLine 3220 based on the surface area to be coated. Use a ratio of 400-600 sq. ft. per gallon (9.8-14.6 m2/L) of EcoLine 3220 as a basis to determine the quantity needed.
  3.  Pump the calculated amount of EcoLine 3220 into the tank.
  4. Fill the tank with water, let Ecoline to float and spread evenly across the tank's interior. This ensures a comprehensive and sufficient coating to protect against corrosion.

With the tank now protected, you can safely pump the water to reach the normal ballasted level.
