Cortec Corrosorber® Liquid

Cortec Corrosorber® Liquid comprises a concentrated solution of nitrogen and heterocyclic compound.

It serves to eliminate sulfides, mercaptans, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and sulfur compounds from both gas systems and liquid hydrocarbons.

This rapidly responsive product enables the reduction of treated H2S levels, particularly in situations where contact time is limited.

Applications

Hydrogen sulfide poses significant health risks. It is lethal when it is present at elevated levels, which can pose serious threats to health even at moderate levels. Operational challenges stemming from H2S include fouling, severe corrosion, and the plugging of injection wells with iron-sulfur compounds.

The corrosion inhibitor liquid is incorporated into bulk reactor structures or continuously injected into liquid product systems, gas gathering lines, vapor overheads, or transmission lines within pipelines. It is adaptable for use in bubble tower or flowline setups. Ideally, fill the bubble tower with the liquid to around 50% capacity to prevent downstream carryover of the product.

Users can dilute Corrosorber® Liquid with methanol or water to facilitate application on systems. Water containing the liquid is recyclable in water gathering lines, water cycle, vapour overheads, holding pits, tanks, or injected into disposal wells.

Method of Application

The quantity of Corrosorber® Liquid needed varies based on the H2S concentration in the system and the desired reduction level. As a rough guideline, each gallon of Corrosorber® Liquid can scavenge approximately 3.3 pounds of H2S per MMSCF. A common field blend consists of 30% Corrosorber® Liquid mixed with 0-15% methanol in water. Further methanol can be incorporated into the product as necessary to fulfil specific application requirements. This proves particularly beneficial in wet gas systems prone to freezing issues.

Package & Storage

Corrosorber® Liquid is packaged in pails and drums. Corrosorber in pails are available in 5 gallons (19 liters). The drum packaging is in 55 gallons (208 liters).

To ensure that the product is in tiptop condition, store it in original packaging, out of direct sunlight at 40-100 °F (4-38 °C).
