What is corrosion?

Corrosion is the gradual degradation of metal due to chemical reactions with its environment.

Corrosion can be caused by many factors such as humidity, temperature, salt water, and air pollution.

Corrosion can cause serious damage to metal parts and structures if left unchecked. Corrosive elements in the environment will slowly eat away at a metal’s surface over time, weakening it and making it more prone to failure. Corrosion can cause metal parts to crack, chip, or even completely disintegrate if not properly treated and protected.
