Revamped Packaging of Burger King Aims to Make the Brand Consistent Globally

The leading fast-food chains, KFC and McDonald’s recently refreshed their packaging, and now Burger King has decided it needs to follow suit.

Small boxes
Earlier this month, the global chain of hamburger fast-food restaurants contacted the London office of Turner Duckworth to start making plans to revamp the packaging of all its products. According to the brand’s spokesperson, Burger King is attempting to position itself more consistently on an international scale, and the new packaging will be part of its overall brand strategy in the future.

Currently, the burger chain, which has locations all over the world, has realised it is potentially confusing customers as its food packaging designs vary massively from country to country. This packaging makes it difficult to have a cohesive brand identity and this positive change will allow them to better communicate its brand message and provide a unified approach to its customers.

Burger King – An Overview
Burger King is one of the biggest fast-food and takeaway chains in the world. Founded in 1954, Burger King has more than 11,000 locations in over 100 countries worldwide. The business is best known for selling burgers and fries, but they offer an extensive menu that includes chicken, salads, and breakfast items too. Burger King has its headquarters in Miami, Florida, and is privately held by 3G Capital. Burger King was founded by Keith J. Kramer and Matthew Burns. The first Burger King restaurant was in Miami, Florida. The burger chain started selling its famous Whopper Burger in 1957, and since then it has become the company’s signature product.

Burger King was one of the most influential fast-food businesses in the development of the American quick-service restaurant industry. In 1963 the burger chain launched its first restaurant outside of the USA in Puerto Rico and Canada.

Today, Burger King is a key part of the programs to reduce carbon footprints and is always transitioning to more eco-friendly and recyclable packaging.

What the Revamped Packaging Would Look Like
The company’s new packaging will include the brand’s logo remaining the same as what they have always used. The changes planned include changes to food packaging with the introduction of updated food wrapping, cups, containers, takeaway packaging and bags. Burger King also plans to update its in-store experience to match the improvements in its packaging identity.

The brand’s spokesperson said that for decades, Burger King restaurants have received global recognition as a premium, iconic brand. The spokesperson also added that the brand has grown internationally to over 14,000 restaurants in more than one hundred countries and that people have been working hard to boost the brand’s consistency across the world. They continued to say that the first step towards achieving their goal was to refine Burger King’s global brand positioning, thus ensuring that every guest experience is driven by a single cohesive brand.

The rollout of Burger King’s new global food packaging was the latest development of this positioning, which celebrates the brand’s delicious, prepared-to-order food, and its desire to offer a fun and authentic experience for all its guests. The spokesperson did not talk about what the next steps would be in this rollout, instead, they simply said that over time, people will continue to see the company’s refined brand identity come alive in exciting and new ways.

Burger King Packaging Burger King – A Sales Boost is Recorded
Some news from other trusted sources confirmed that Burger King’s business got a boost from the return of its popular chicken fries’ product. On 27th July, its parent company Restaurant Brands International Inc. said that sales had increased by 7.9% at Burger King locations in the Canada and USA during the second quarter.

The increase contrasted with McDonald’s sales last Week which dropped by 2% in the USA as promotions failed to meet customer expectations.

Burger King is confident that its revamped packaging will increase sales even more across its wide range of products.

Food Packaging – Flexible Packaging
Most of the food packaging used in the takeaway industry consists of flexible packaging which is mainly made up of materials that include paper, foil, and plastic. Flexible packaging is the best type of packaging to hold fast-food including pizza boxes, hot drinks, salad boxes, plastic cutlery, and other hot food items. Other packaging items used in takeaways include food bags, carrier bags, foil trays, plastic lids, and another flexible packaging that keeps food fresh and secure. Flexible packaging is available in several different sizes and shapes, and it can also be easily designed with writing and logos upon it, which makes it the perfect sustainable packaging solution for the fast-food industry.

There are many benefits to using flexible packaging with foods. Most of these packaging types are disposable and intended to be disposed of immediately after purchase, with most of the fast-food flexible packaging also being suitable quality to be recycled too.
