A lot of people are still unaware of the concept associated with foil blocking and the advantages it has.

BlockFoil

Blockfoil – one of the leading foil blocking specialists in the UK, has decided to bring into market brochures that will give people guidance on foils and answer their common queries related to them.

As a participant in the upcoming Packaging Innovations & Luxury Packaging London 2015, the company will showcase its products and also answer visitors’ questions.

The show will be held at Olympia – London’s iconic venue, on September 16 and 17 for the first time.

Blockfoil commented that among the many benefits associated with foil, one is that it enables the product to sit separately from the crowd. It gives products a brand value and also adds to their price. Thus, with premium brand positioning and pricing, foils would sell more in the market.

Blockfoil’s brochure will comprise a guide about the products that the company offers to its customers. It will also have some techniques of foil blocking along with a few popular shades of foils.

The brochure also plans to include some samples from the earlier work completed by Blockfoil.

Interestingly, the brochure will come along with a free magnifying glass so that people can have a closer look at the work completed by Blockfoil.

Blockfoil’s New Brochure Will Educate People About Foil Blocking
A spokesperson from Blockfoil has commented that in the present age, creating a memorable experience in the minds of the customers is of utmost importance. He added further that designing a brochure by using bright foil colours is an effective way to grab the attention of both the new as well as the existing customers.

Blockfoil has been in business since 1981. It has been operating from its factories in Ipswich, Manchester and Nottingham. Over the years, it has emerged as UK’s foremost specialist in foil blocking.

Now, the company offers the most comprehensive range of embossing and foil blocking services to several large packaging companies and printers in the UK.

With the introduction of its new brochure in the market, the company hopes that a lot of other packaging companies and designers will become aware of the benefits of foil blocking.

Stand B14 will be Blockfoil’s store at the Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2015. The company representatives will be at hand to explain foil blocking concept and answer questions of visitors related to their exhibits or foils.

Applications of Foil Blocking
Foil blocking is a popular printing technique that involves pressing a sheet of metal foil onto a substrate, such as paper or cardboard. The process can be used to create a variety of effects, including a high-gloss finish, a metallic sheen, or a raised textured surface.

Foil blocking is often used in food and liquid pouch packaging, as it can help to create an eye-catching and luxurious design. For example, many champagne bottles are foil blocked with gold or silver foils to give them an opulent appearance.

Similarly, premium chocolate bars are often foil packaged and sealed with bright colours to make them stand out on the shelves. Foil blocking can also be used to add security features to packaging, such as tamper-evident seals.

Challenges
Foil blocking can add a touch of luxury to any packaging, but it also comes with a few challenges. First, the paper or card stock must be perfectly smooth for the foil to adhere properly. Second, the design must be registration perfect, as any misalignment will be immediately apparent. Finally, the foil itself can be very delicate, making it susceptible to scratching and scuffing. Despite these challenges, foil blocking remains a popular choice for food and drink packaging, thanks to its unique visual appeal.

How Does Foil Blocking Work
Foil blocking is a printing process that uses heat and pressure to apply a metallic foil to the surface of a substrate. The foil can be applied to paper, card, leather, or fabric, and it can be printed in a single colour or multiple colours.

The machinery used for foil blocking consists of a foiling press, a die, and a roll of foil. The foiling press consists of two heated plates that sandwich the substrate between them.

The die is placed on top of the packaging, and the foil is fed into the press. As the press applies pressure and heat to the die, the foil is transferred to the surface of the substrate. Foil blocking is an effective way to add a touch of luxury to stationary, packaging, and other print products.

Different Foil Used in this Process
Many different types of foil can be used in this process, including gold, silver, and holographic foils. Each foil has its unique properties adding a special touch to your printed piece.

Gold foil, for example, is often used to add a luxurious look to invitations or business cards. Silver foil can give your project a more modern feel, while holographic foils can add a bit of fun and excitement.
