What is a constant heat sealer?
A constant heat sealer is a machine which uses a ‘constant’ heat and pressure to apply heat sealing welds to flexible packaging films.
In contrast to most impulse heat sealers which operate in a semi-automatic fashion, transferring heat onto the packaging in timed intervals (or pulses), constant machines usually require a manual operation, applying heat and pressure for as long as the operator requires. For example, when using a handheld heat sealer the temperature is set and the seal cycle lasts as long as the operator compresses the jaws. Or for larger devices presses a button, closes an arm.Constant heat sealers are usually the preferred choice for those sealing heavy gauge, multi layered laminate films.
