Features

  • Universal Protection. Cortec® CorrTube is a versatile product that offers reliable protection for all types of metals, whether they are ferrous or non-ferrous. This all-in-one solution simplifies your prevention process. You don’t need multiple products.
  • Environmentally Friendly. Safety and sustainability are at the core of CorrTube's formulation. The product is entirely non-toxic. It is free from nitrites, chromates, phosphates, silicones, and heavy metals. Thus, your corrosion protection efforts are not harmful to the environment or human health.
  • Recyclable and Repulpable. The CorrTube is constructed using a neutral natural kraft liner board coated with VpCI material. This specific construction ensures compatibility with various metal types and provides reliable corrosion protection over extended periods.
  • Plus, this packaging tube is fully recyclable and repulpable. The product is safe to be reused or processed. This way reduces waste and promotes responsible resource management.
  • Effective Against Aggressive Environments. CorrTube goes beyond standard protection by combatting aggressive environments. It offers formidable resistance against humidity, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and galvanic corrosion caused by dissimilar metals coming into contact.
  • Convenient Surface Finishing. Unlike traditional protective coatings, CorrTube's protective layer seamlessly integrates with subsequent processes. You don’t need to remove any coating or finishing. This saves time and effort. It also maintains the integrity of the metal surface.
  • Reliable Storage and Transit Protection. Whether your metals are in dry storage or oiled during transportation, Cortec® CorrTube ensures a consistent layer of corrosion protection. Your valuable assets remain shielded from corrosion, even during overseas shipments where exposure to harsh conditions is common. Cortec® CorrTube cleverly integrates packaging and corrosion protection in a single step. With this packaging tube, you integrate these two crucial processes. As a result, you streamline your workflow, enhance efficiency, and minimise the risk of corrosion-related damages during storage and transit.
  • Method of Application. To effectively protect your metal products from corrosion, apply Cortec® CorrTube using the following recommended method.
  • Clean, Dry, and Pack Properly. After thoroughly cleaning the metal products, it is essential to package them immediately. The CorrTube should be used as soon as possible after the cleaning process. However, before proceeding with the packaging, ensure that the products are completely dried of any residual water. Moisture can interfere with the corrosion protection process, so it's crucial to have a dry surface.
  • Choose Appropriate Tube Diameter. Select a CorrTube diameter that closely matches the size of the metal part you intend to package and protect. This helps optimise the amount of VpCI material released during the packaging process. Appropriate tube diameter ensures sufficient coverage and protection for the entire metal surface.
  • Cover Completely. Then cover both ends securely. This prevents any leak of VpCI material and maintains a continuous protective environment around the metal surface.
