Cold seal is the term for heat-sealable material that does not require heat to seal. It can be sealed with low temperature, less than 150°C (300°F) or by using the cold seal adhesive strip, which goes on the band itself rather than on each bag making it easier to handle and often stronger than traditional hot glue sealing.

A cold seal is, typically, the opposite of a heat seal. Heat sealers are often more reliable than cold seals, but require more expensive equipment.
