Wellness is a leading producer of healthy, natural pet foods. It’s known to select nature’s finest ingredients and mix them with unique super nutrients to ensure complete body health and overall wellbeing of pets.
Recently, it has forged a partnership with TerraCycle to become the first pet food brand in the U.S. to launch recyclable packaging on a national scale.
TerraCycle is ranked as world’s no. 1 in collecting and reprocessing hard-to-recycle consumable wastes, ranging from coffee capsules and cigarette butts to used chip bags. It’s interesting to note that TerraCycle collects wastes through national, free, brand-funded platforms named “Brigades” and various government and consumer aided models.
The waste is recycled or reused into various sustainable, affordable consumer products and technical applications. Every year, TerraCycle collects and reprocesses tons of waste, donating millions of dollars to charities and schools in the process.
Chanda Leary-Coutu, Senior Manager at Wellness, said they were extremely excited with their new association with TerraCycle. He went on to add that several customers of Wellness strongly encourage a green living and the company is happy to offer them a simple way to reprocess pet food packaging. He said their recyclable packaging is sure to be welcomed by these consumers.
Way to Benefit from Wellness’ Recyclable Packaging
“TruFood” of Wellness, suitable for cats and dogs, is grain-free and contains the best quality ingredients from field, sea and farm. TruFood is available across the nation at pet specialty stores like PetSmart and Petco.
Consumers can recycle their TruFood packaging via TerraCycle’s Wellness Pet Food Brigade and even earn points for it. Interested consumers can register at www.terracycle.com/wellnesspetfood for free. Members of the Pet Food Brigade will earn points against each prepaid consignment of TruFood bag weighing a minimum of two pounds. Such points can then be used by the members for charity gifts or converted to cash and donated to charities of their choice.
Wellness is offering the TruFood experience to regional pets through its Wellness TruFood Wagon tour. This tour will visit Phoenix, New York, Seattle, San Diego, Chicago, St. Paul, Boston and Toronto. It would include activities, free samples and focus on the company’s future steps with respect to its recycling program with TerraCycle.
Wellness’ recyclable packaging project will reprocess the collected packaging into various fresh consumable products like bike racks, park benches, recycling bins and pet food bowls.
